Wendy A. Cevallos has served as Community Outreach Coordinator in the Public Advocacy Division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office since May 2005. Previously, she worked as Campaign Volunteer Coordinator for Grijalva for Congress/Elias for Pima County Board of Supervisors as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson.
 
In November 2006, Wendy was appointed by Tucson City Councilwoman Nina Trasoff to serve as Commissioner on the Pima County/Tucson Women’s Commission.

Stephanie Cherny is an associate at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.  Her work focuses on representing individuals and companies who are, or could potentially be, under federal investigation.   She is admitted to practice in Arizona, California, and Washington, DC.  In addition, she won a landmark legal case to take back the domain name of the former president of Planned Parenthood from a cyber-squatter.   Stephanie has volunteered on many political campaigns and worked in the legal counsel's office during the 2000 Democratic Convention in Los Angeles.

Kristen Ciba was born in Billings, Montana. The summer after she turned four, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her mom, dad and sister. In junior high, she was nominated to be a member of National Junior Honor Society and in high school was inducted into the National Honor Society. Upon high school graduation, she was initiated as a life time member of Girl Scouts, having been a member for over fourteen years. Kristen attended Northern Arizona University for her first three years of college.

Tempe Elementary School District Governing Board Member

Sherri Connell was elected as a member of the Tempe Elementary School District Governing Board in November 2008 General Election to serve a four-year term officially sworn in January 1, 2009. Just this past June, she attended the Arizona School Boards Association annual legislative assembly on behalf of the Tempe Elementary Governing Board as their designated delegate.Sherri has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in English from Northern Arizona University.

Sherri Connell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Northern Arizona University with an emphasis in English. She started her career with the Arizona Department of Economic Security in the Division of Developmental Disabilities reviewing contract renewals on behalf of Coconino County. She furthered her career working for two years with the Phoenix New Times as a Calendar Listings Editor writing news articles for the entertainment section.

My family moved to Flagstaff in 1967 when I was four; my father had 
taken a professorship at NAU, while my mother returned to teaching 
elementary school. I graduated from Flagstaff High School, and obtained 
my undergraduate degrees (BA and BS) from the University of Texas in 
Austin. I returned to Arizona after college, living in Phoenix while 
working for APS at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station, where I 
met my husband.

Maureen Cotner is gratefully retired from a 28 year career managing customer service for Discover Card Services. She began her career with Discover in Columbus Ohio where she grew up and attended High School and 2 years of college. Maureen moved to Arizona in 1986 to help Discover open a new operations center. Many years in the call center and customer service environment is actually great training for politics and campaigning! 
 
Since retirement, Maureen has focused on political involvement.

I hold my Associate of Arts degree in Interpreter for the deaf. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, I taught beginning and intermediate Sign Language classes including Sign Song. As a Sign Language Interpreter in both academic and business settings, I interpreted at the High School, College and University levels. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with my option in Accounting Theory and Practice from California State University, Northridge.

Alicia Cybulski got her start in Democratic politics when she searched out the Young Democrat table at the University of Arizona. She became involved in building the club and working on local elections in Tucson. In 2003, she was elected to serve as the president of the organization where the membership went from five people to over twenty. In addition to serving at her local chapter, she served a year as the Vice President of Finance for the Young Democrats of Arizona and during her tenure the Change for Change recurring monthly donor program began.

Maria (Proctor) Dadgar is an enrolled member of the Piscataway Tribe of Accokeek, Maryland. Maria has worked in the fields of Development, Higher Education Administration and Non Profit Executive Management for more than 15 years.

Andrea Dalessandro was born in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, the worldwide symbol of freedom and opportunity. The mission of her life has been to fight for increased freedom and opportunity for all the people with whom she comes in contact.
Residing in Sahuarita, she has immersed herself in civic, community, local and regional service. Even though her parents were of very modest means, Andrea was given the opportunity to attend college and become a mathematics teacher. A scholarship to college covered the tuition, and her numerous part-time jobs covered fees, books and transportation.

Jacqueline was a resident of Arizona in the 1970’s and 80’s before living in the northwest for twelve years. Jacqueline returned to Arizona in 2001 and has been a resident of Payson for the past three and a half years. She is currently seeking employment in the Payson area after spending the past nine years raising her daughter and caring for her elderly parents. She has been an active volunteer and a founding member of the PTO at her daughter’s elementary school.

Shelley is a partner in the law firm of Osborn Maledon, P.A. Shelley’s practice focuses primarily on representing clients in a variety of business transactions and corporate governance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings and other significant business transactions. She also represents nonprofit organizations in a variety of matters including qualification for tax exemption, and corporate governance and lobbying issues.

I moved to Tucson Arizona from Michigan in 1979 and have lived in Wittmann, Arizona and been a registered Democrat in that area since 1986. I have worked in accounting for several employers in the Valley including Sun Health, Desert Sky Pavilions, and Bill Johnson’s Restaurants. 
 
I am the treasurer for the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, treasurer for the Golden Age Roadrunners Retirement Club/IBEW Local 640, and Vice-President of the North West Valley Democrat’s.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have worked most of my professional career in the fields of behavioral health, children’s services and aging services in the government sector. I currently work in the “private sector “ for Evercare of Arizona’s as the Program Director for the Alzheimer’s Disease Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan.
 
I have a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University, and a Masters degree in Business Administration and Management.  I also have a Gerontology Certificate from the University of Arizona.

Valeri was raised in Colorado and Wyoming. She has two daughters Amanda 21 and Stephanie 18. Valeri has always been involved in whatever has presented itself. She was on the PTA at her children’s schools during their entire education.  Wherever she lived she was involved in the community and is currently the president of her HOA. Her job at Qwest Communications opened yet another chapter of involvement.

Former Precinct Captain

Georgette Escobar graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Empire College School of Law in 1994.  Before entering into private practice she was a management level prosecutor in charge of the narcotics enforcement unit. In 2008, Georgette moved to Arizona, where she became active in the community. She is currently employed by the law office of Leon Thikoll in Tucson Arizona. Georgette has been involved in numerous political campaigns throughout her career. Her involvement in politics began well over twenty years ago when she worked for the Mayor of the Town of Windsor.

Kit grew up in Urbana Illinois, graduated from the University of Denver with a BFA, lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Mexico, then back again to Denver and finally came to the state she loves the most, Arizona, in 2004.   When living in Northern Wisconsin Kit was very involved in her community including becoming the first woman to be elected to the board of education.

Colleen Fisher has been a social worker for over 20 years, working primarily in the fields of health care and gerontology.

Former State Legislature, District 25, Candidate for Re-election

A proud Arizonan for 40 years, Pat and her family moved to Sierra Vista in 1969 where she began to make personal and professional ties in the community.  In 1981, she began working as an Army Department civilian at Fort Huachuca.  She then learned how to manage complex government resources during her career with the Army as a budget analyst and a manpower allocations analyst.  In August 2005, Pat retired with more than 24 years of service to the Army.

Candidate for Tucson Unified School District Governing Board

I am an experienced educator with a keen understanding of how politics affect public education. I understand how the actions of our elected officials contribute to the success or failures of our schools. I am also aware that many public programs today are facing serious attacks.

Former National Democratic Convention Delegate

I was born in 1968 in Washington DC to a young woman who placed me for adoption in St. Ann’s Maternity home. My parents, Donald and Elizabeth Gratehouse, adopted me when I was three weeks old. They had adopted my sister, Kathleen, two years before that.  I was raised in the suburb of Silver Spring, Maryland.  
 
Growing up near the nation’s capital was a wonderful and enriching experience for me. My dad worked as economist for the Nixon administration and then practiced law in the city.

During her time at Arizona State University, Karina worked with the Service Learning Program and other prestigious organizations such as the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and the Gila River Indian Community.  During this time she worked and volunteered for the after school and literacy programs. She then transferred and obtained her BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2004. She has been working in the finance and real estate industry for the past 15 years.  
 
Currently, she is a small business owner in the HVAC/Sheet Metal Manufacturing Industry.

Eileen Hartnett, a resident of Tempe, is the Community Services Operations Supervisor for the Maricopa County Human Services Department, Community Services Division. She received her Bachelor's Degree in 1996 from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master's in Social Work from Boston University School of Social Work in 2000. She moved to Arizona with only the belongings she could fit in her car, and began her career in Arizona as a therapist working with adolescent girls in foster care.
