Our Network of States
Since 2002 Emerge States have recruited, inspired, and trained over 900 women to run for elective office. Our network is growing fast and we currently have 10 states including our first southern program in Kentucky, which launched in 2009:
- Emerge Arizona founded in 2004.
- Emerge California founded in 2002.
- Emerge Colorado launched in 2012.
- Emerge Kentucky launched in 2009.
- Emerge Maine launched in 2007.
- Emerge Maryland launched in 2012.
- Emerge Massachusetts launched in 2008.
- Emerge Nevada launched in 2006.
- Emerge New Jersey launched in 2012.
- Emerge New Mexico launched in 2006.
- Emerge Oregon launched in 2008.
- Emerge Wisconsin launched in 2007.
Our Model
When Emerge America launches a new state program, we identify the top women elected officials, activists, and Democratic leaders in the state and leverage their collective experience to build the strongest organization possible. In this way, each Emerge state is truly community-based. Because we are building a powerful Democratic political network of participants, alumnae, board and advisory board members, and trainers, we are creating a new Democratic women's movement, dedicated to changing the face of power, the face of politics, and the face of leadership in this country.
