Who We Are

Emerge Arizona Women in Office

Councilmember Karla Brewster was elected to a four year term on the Flagstaff City Council in May 2008.  A native of Oregon, Karla lived most of her live in the Phoenix area until moving to Flagstaff in 1998 where she enjoys working with diversity.

A proud Arizonan for 40 years, Pat and her family moved to Sierra Vista in 1969 where she began to make personal and professional ties in the community.  In 1981, she began working as an Army Department civilian at Fort Huachuca.  She then learned how to manage complex government resources during her career with the Army as a budget analyst and a manpower allocations analyst.  In August 2005, Pat retired with more than 24 years of service to the Army.

Alexandria Soto, an Arizona State University graduate, holds a MSW degree in Social Work from ASU.  Her first experience in social services was through working at Chicanos Por La Causa assisting homeless individuals and families facing foreclosure and eviction. This invaluable experience led her towards a dedicated career in behavioral health and her work with persons who have a serious mental illness and those with general mental heath issues.

April Bojorquez is currently a Ph.D. student of Social Cultural Anthropology  at the School of Human Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University. She is a third generation Arizonan and feels very much at home in the Sonoran desert. Professionally, April's experiences include participation in the Smithsonian's Latino Museum Studies Program and the U.S. Embassy's Cultural Affairs Museum Internship Program in Lima, Peru.
